I know...yes I haven't updated in a while. Anyway I guess you are looking for an update. There really has not been anything going on here as of late. I am still looking for work out in California (yes I am seeking refuge away from the cold, ice, snow and other nasties that come with winter in the Northeast). So far I have had no hits on my resume. Personally I think it is because I still live here in NY, but see there comes the problem, since we have the kids, we can't just move 3000 miles away from family, with no jobs. We just can not deal with that added stress of looking for something when we get there, dealing with a new place, new home all at the same time. What I need is just one person to say yes lets give her a chance. I guess I haven't found that person yet.

Other then that.. I am working on getting the wolves here with my parents. Finding sponsors is hard work, people here wolf and they immediately think of the wolf from little red riding hood or something. Anyway I will have more information on that once I get what i need to done for the packaging and stuff.

Today is just one of those days today. The dog ate the kids lunches right off the table, then she got out of the house which forced me to leave work to go catch her. So yeah.. thats my day. I am sitting here back at work, waiting for something to do.

Happy Tuesday!

I have to ask, why do people feel the need to pass judgment on others so quickly? Why do people want to miss the life that is going on around them? Why are they so hooked on buying the bigger and better house or car when it really is not necessary? Then expect people to have sympathy for them, when their other home does not sell and they are stuck with 2 mortgages.

Does it really matter what you look like to get a job or continue one without the snickers behind your back? It shouldn't...but it happens and I guess to some people the way you look does mean something. People are people, because they have a blue hair streak in their hair, that you can't really see anyway, shouldn't mean anything about their work performance.

I am sorry people get so caught up in what is going on with everyone else's lives that they 1: assume they know what is going on in everyone else's lives 2: think they are entitled to know and therefore harass certain people, because 'they have the right too' 3: assume that the world revolves around them

HELLO you are missing out on actually having a life, doing good with your life, experiencing new and different thoughts and ideas and things.

I just do not understand....

I have to say this.... I AM TIRED of the cold...the winter...

Today is not going to be to bad, but umm tomorrow... it starting out at 13 and falling during the day. The news said its doing to be in the single digits by the afternoon.

So guess what, I am not leaving the house until I have to leave for work on Tuesday.

Whose game for moving somewhere warm???
18th-Jan-2008 09:20 am - What I miss
I was talking with my friend Kathy this morning about what I would love to be able to experience again. Mieke is starting her first job tomorrow, she is helping out at a local horse barn, mucking stalls, haying, watering, turning out horses and such. Well what I wanted to know was, is it okay to be jealous of your child's job? I know its not the most glamorous job in the world, hell I used to do that job. Close your eyes and see that I am describing:

Work with the horses, and be outside with the sun rises, the fog coming off the fields, rays of sun filtering in... and if you are lucky you get to see a horse in the middle of all that.. sigh.... I miss that.

So yeah... I would love to have my own ranch, and be able to see that, experience it once again.

I have been thinking about a lot what people do to each other and how badly people treat one another lately. From what is happening to my daughter's friend to the whole Britney thing. With my daughter's friend, her parents just don't want her anymore so they are putting her in the foster care system. How can a parent just decide that they don't want their child anymore? How can it be that easy just to give your child up too? I mean why isn't anyone questioning this? I am sad for this little girl, sad for my daughter that she is A: losing a friend, B: because of this girls parents, she is now exposed more to the cruelty of what goes on in the world. Why can't kids be just kids these days? Why do they have to deal with the drama of what the foster system is, and how parents can throw away children just because they don't want them anymore. It is truly sad.

Then I got thinking about how the paparazzi treat people too just for a buck. Is that what it all comes down too? The all mighty buck? What happened to people's morality, their ethics, what is right and wrong? Some might argue that well people have high profile jobs and because of that they knew what they are getting into with the media. No that is so not right, I don't care what kind of job you have, there is no way you should have people following you and stalking you, because that is what it is...stalking, taking your picture where ever you go. Then the topic is brought up that it is stated in the constitution... freedom of speech and all that. Wrong...it does not say that people want to know where so and so shops or what they buy at the grocery store, or if they took a walk in the park. Who cares! I mean is your life that small where you have to know every detail of someone else's life?

That got me thinking of the whole Britney thing that has been going on. Yesterday I heard on the radio that people have pools going on when she is going to...well you can fill in the blank there. I don't care who it is.. a person is a person, betting on when someone is going to die is WRONG! These people were on the radio and thought it was funny... I could not believe it. Yes, she had/has talent, she could be really big again if she applied herself, yes she has issues at home, there are things going on that we don't even know. The media is not helping with her situation at all either.

So this brings me back on point, what has our civilization come to? What gives us the right to treat one another like we do? To throw away another person like they are garbage? To invade someones private life and display everything out so the world can view it? Something needs to give somewhere... It certainly is not saying anything for us as a whole.

Okay I am getting off my soap box, but this is how I feel.

Who watched the Buffalo Sabres vs. The Penguins yesterday? What a great game that was, even though the Sabres lost in the shoot out. It was a close game all the way till the end! Now I like hockey, but this season I think I am really getting into it. They played outdoors yesterday, thats a first in NHL history! The Bills stadium was packed with 75,000 people in the snow, sleet and ice! Amazing really! I wish we had been there, what a game to see, you know what I mean?

Here is the recap from the Sabres Web Site of the game. RECAP HERE

I am so excited, I am going to see my cousin who is visiting her husband's family down by the city. We haven't seen each other since 1989... yes you read that right! So I had to tell someone. I haven't told Mieke yet, but I think she is going to be thrilled because she wants to visit Holland, why you ask, not all because of the country, but also because and I quote "the whole country can say my name the right way". Ahh the logic of a 13yr old girl.

So I am excited, its a good day.

I love this time of year I really do. All the get togethers, holiday spirit, and all that jazz.. I am into that honest! But what I don't get and what makes me sick every year, is the amount of money we all spend on this holiday. I vow every year that we are going to take it easy... which we do, but then the cost of everything sky rockets and you pay just as much or more for less. I just don't understand.

Sorry I just had to get that out and off my chest (so to speak) I see all these parents running around spending thousands on stuff... and I have to wonder, will their kids even use it? Thats my issue too, I refuse to buy items I know my kids won't use or don't need. What is the sense? To have more gifts under a tree? What is the point of Christmas anyway? To spend money, I don't think so. Its to be with family, celebrate what you have in life.

Enough of a rant from me.

Happy Holidays! Spread the Cheer and Joy!

Okay I wasn't going to rant about this.. but DAMN people.

If you live here in NY, you are used to the snow and the crap that comes along with winter. But I have to ask, do you FORGET in the Spring and Summer months how it is here from lets say November to March? Plus this, its not our first storm of the season... I bet you can see my eye roll from where ever you are.

I come to work, I have my truck in part time 4x4, the roads are crap, they did not salt at all, and first of all if you are not going to salt, leave the snow where it is!!! Its much safer... anyway, people are pulling out in front of me left and right. hello do you not see me??? I am big and red? I know I have my lights on as well. Come on people pay attention, do you really want to get into an accident on the way to work??? Think it will be cool to get on the news? I don't, so please I beg you look where you are going, look both ways before turning.. PLEASE

So I finally make it to work, and I have to wonder if the building is even open today. The parking lot is not plowed, and the building is dark. Did I miss a memo???

Anyway, I am here, safe ans sound *g* And I am praying that the ride home, is much better then the ride in.

Happy Monday!
